Geotechnical Laboratories: Our in-house geotechnical laboratories (Sandy and St. George) are fully equipped to conduct laboratory testing of soils for:
- Classification (gradation and Atterberg limits)
- Strength (unconfined, direct shear, and triaxial shear)
- Natural density and moisture content
- Consolidation
- Specific gravity
- Permeability (rigid-wall and triaxial)
- California Bearing Ratio (CBR)
- Gradient ratio
- Sulfate soundness
- Resistivity
- pH
- Water soluble sulfates
- Porosity
AGEC laboratories are approved by and/or follow guidelines of these agencies: American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO: Soils, Concrete, Concrete Aggregate, Hot-mix Asphalt, and Hot-mix Asphalt Aggregate), ASTM, Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL), Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC), Utah DOT, and Utah DFCM.

Construction Materials Laboratories: Our construction-materials laboratories (Sandy and St. George) have numerous capabilities including:
- Measuring the compressive and flexible strengths of structural concrete
- Compressive strength of structural masonry (mortar, grout, brick, block, and composite prisms)
- Moisture-density relationships (Proctors)
- Relative density
- Gradations
- Asphaltic concrete samples can be analyzed for oil content, grain size distribution, Marshall stability and flow, and bulk specific gravity.
